Project Description

Originally constructed in 1663, Swift Creek Mill operated as a grist mill along the banks of Swift Creek and temporarily as a distillery until 1965 when it was originally refurbished and transformed into a dinner theater. Since that time “The Mill,” as it is affectionately called, maintains its status as a cultural icon for the Tri-Cities area. In 2013, the Townes Team was hired to assist in the renovation of the historic structure and to bring the facility into compliance with ADA standards. In addition, the Townes Team was asked to provide site plan services for an expansion of the theatrical production area. From the start of the renovation to completion of the project the Townes Team worked with the existing structure and owners to assure site ADA compliance was met and the charm “The Mill” has held for centuries was maintained.
